About Home Care Assistance:
Home Care Assistance helps seniors and older adults with non-medical activities of daily living including meal preparation, assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation and much more. Care and companionship are available on an hourly or a live-in basis. They are the experts when it comes to 24 hour live-in care.
How we are helping:
FTC Handmade Masks will be supplying 500 masks for home support workers and their clients in the Vancouver area.
May's Place and Cottage Hospice
At May’s Place and Cottage Hospice, individuals from all walks of life receive compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like environment. Our patients are like family. People receive the support to live with the best possible quality of life, with dignity and self-determination. Patients and their loved ones are able to spend meaningful time together in peaceful settings without the strain of care-taking.
How we are helping:
FTC Masks has donated over 200 masks to Cottage Hospice and May's Place.
Powell Place and Spring House Shelters
Women and children in crisis have a stable and secure place to stay at Powell Place and Springhouse as they rebuild their lives. Women retain their autonomy and cultivate the resiliency, skills and strengths to overcome their challenges, progress to permanent housing and move forward in life.
How we are helping:
FTC Masks has donated over 200 masks to Powell Place and Spring House Shelters.
About The Dugout
The Dugout’s mission is simple, to provide a supportive safe space to the disadvantaged residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
We like to call what we offer a “Community Living Room”, or a place where people can come have a snack and a coffee off of the street or away from the isolation that many experience living on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
How we are helping:
FTC Handmade Masks will be supplying 24 masks for case workers and board members.
Immigrant Services Society of BC
ISSofBC provides a supportive environment for newcomers to Canada of all backgrounds. We are here to meet your settlement, English language and employment needs.
How we are helping:
35% of our Phase 1 inventory went to supporting ISSofBC. In Phase 2 we will provide 600 mask kits to newcomers and families arriving in Metro Vancouver.
About Street Saviours Outreach Society
The Street Saviours is a non-faith based diverse group of volunteers that conduct outreach services in the streets and alleys of the DTES.
How we are helping:
FTC Handmade Masks has supplied over 200 masks to Street Saviour's volunteer workforce.
MOSAIC
MOSAIC is one of the largest settlement non-profit organizations in Canada. We serve immigrant, refugee, migrant and mainstream communities in Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley as well as throughout the province of BC and overseas via online programs.
How we are helping:
FTC Handmade Masks has distributed over 800 masks to newcomers, counseling services, and the MOSAIC Seniors Club.
Marineview Housing Society
Marineview Housing Society provides accessible housing for people with psychiatric disabilities living on the North Shore.
How we are helping:
FTC Handmade Masks sent over 200 masks to Marineview residents.
Maundy Cafe at Christ Church Cathedral
The Cathedral uses food to nourish its communities in ways that cultivate connection, holistic health and community resiliency, by honouring the agency, creativity, dignity, intellect, and worth of all who come to the table.
How we are helping:
FTC Handmade Masks sent over 160 masks to Maundy Cafe staff and volunteers.
